I'm A Lady... More Like Femme Fatale ;)

I had been eyeing this little treasure for quite some time and was reluctant to buy because I felt it might have had that “old school teacher” smell. Boy! Was I surprised.
J’Adore is a lovely pick-me-up kind of scent. It is a “white floral,” which means that it is made up of light floral notes such as white rose, iris and the lighter scented flowers. The combination is not overpowering or too sweet, instead it reminds me of the lovely scent of a fresh corsage.

Perfect for casual wear and occasions when a rich scent is too much. A little will last you a long time, so no need to drench yourself in this fragrance. A spritz before dressing should leave you smelling lovely most of the day.

This fragrance is a little pricey but trust me ladies, you get a lot of “bang for your buck”.

I feel quite sexy in this scent and have received several compliments and I only had it on an hour!

Grace Fragrance Line from Philosophy (Product Review)

Yooo Hooo, Ladies,

I am not sure if you are a fan of the GRACE line from Philosophy, but it’s fantastic. I love the Amazing Grace fragrance. It’s very light and spring like.  I also like Pure Grace which is like a soap and water scent… Good for just lounging around the house or running errands. One thing though… It doesn't last all day like most scents… Overall it’s great. I picked mine up at Macy’s and fell in love with it the moment the “fragrance lady” sprayed it on my wrist. Goes well with my chemistry.

Here’s a coupon for free shipping!  Expires on June 22nd… Enjoy!

Be Bold... Go Short!

The new face of Lusters Pink Haircare Products, Ms. Meagan Good. I love this cut and much more like this better than her longer locks from past movies and events. This style gives her a more mature and edgier look.

I have always been a fan of short hair. It’s just so versatile, however, I do use extensions for a longer look every now and again. Mostly during vacations, because I can pin it up.  This style looks even better with honey blonde streaks! I am not a fan of jet black hair.

A word to the wise, though: Shorter strands don’t always translate to low-maintenance primping. Take Meagan Good. To properly execute this lopsided coif, each one of her on-display locks had to be sculpted to perfection.  However, if you are good with curlers, like I am,  you could do this in no time!

Want the Perfect Pout? Try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anime!!!

Ginnifer Goodwin

Ginnifer Goodwin
The Once Upon a Time star rocked a matchy-matchy look for the red carpet that was fun and sophisticated for the June 14 event. Here’s how you can copy her lips & nails!

Actress Ginnifer Goodwin, 34, certainly knows how to coordinate her hues! To add some pop to her solid white outfit, she rocked two punches of pink: on her nails and lips. The trick to getting this look just so is finding great shades that are in the same color family. Ginnifer’s pinks have berry and melon undertones that compliment one another. Trying too hard to get the colors to match ruins the edgy vibe.

To get Ginnifer’s matte bright pink lip, try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anime. You can customize the intensity of the color by layering it until you get the exact look that you crave! A bright coral nail polish like OPI I Eat Mainely Lobster is a perfect pairing.

Want This Look? Here's How to Get It!!!

Janel Parrish, 23, wore romantic milkmaid-style braids created by stylist Glenn Nutley for Kérastase. The look is perfect for summer days and steamy nights when you want to get your strands off your face.

Here are Glenn’s tips for creating the look:

Step 1: Spray Kérastase Spray Volumactive into the roots and blow dry hair for volume.

Step 2: Taking a 1”-barrel curling iron, section hair and create loose waves for extra texture.

Step 3: Tease the roots and spray Kérastase Double Force Hairspray into the roots before smoothing the hair back with fingers.

Step 4: Separate hair into two sections in the back and braid them, crossing the two braids over each other to the opposite sides of the head. Wrap them around each other and secure with bobby pins.

Step 5: Make an additional braid with a piece of extension hair and pin it at the top pf your head, and to the existing braids so it looks like one continuous crown. Set with hairspray.

Poll: Do YOU love Janel’s YHA hair?

Rodney King Found Dead In Pool

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rodney King, the black motorist whose 1991 videotaped beating by Los Angeles police officers was the touchstone for one of the most destructive race riots in the nation’s history, was declared dead early Sunday after being pulled from the bottom of his swimming pool. He was 47.

King’s fiancee called 911 at 5:25 a.m. to report that she found him in the pool at their home in Rialto, Calif., police Lt. Dean Hardin said.

Officers arrived to find King in the deep end of the pool and pulled him out. King was unresponsive, and officers began CPR until paramedics arrived. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:11 a.m., police said.

Steal Sofia Vergara’s Sexy Style

"Modern Family's" Sofia Vergara is smokin' hot! Whether the paparazzi catches her on the city streets or hitting the red carpet for a swanky soiree, the actress always has flawless makeup, shiny locks, and a wardrobe that flatters her curvy figure. No, we can't all look like her, but we can make her style work for us. Watch as NYC makeup artist Stefanie Syat demonstrates how to do just that on this episode of "The Thread.

Who Wore it Better??? Ummm Brandy!

Brandy vs. Kellie Pickler — Fashion Faceoff

Two songstresses known for their pipes recently showed off their gams when they wore the same figure-fitting bandage-style dress on the red carpet more than two weeks apart. Both singer/actress/reality star Brandy and "American Idol" alum Kellie Pickler chose a pale-pink Herve Leger by Max Azria design with fringe and metal detailing. This gorgeous garment can be yours for the bargain price of just $2,600! But hold off on buying the dress online just yet, because first you need to decide ... who wore it best?!

Brandy, 33, debuted the dress at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 20.

The "Brandy & Ray J" star, who released the single "Put it Down" with Chris Brown last month, accessorized with Christian Louboutin slingbacks, lots of jewelry, and a mini clutch. Her hair, which she normally wears straight, was curly and loose.

Kellie, 25, strutted her stuff in the frock at the 2012 CMT Music Awards at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on June 6. She paired the piece with platform shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti and gold bangles, and wore her wavy hair down . While the songstress didn't take home an award — she lost Female Video of the Year for "Tough" to Miranda Lambert for "Over You" — she certainly looked fabulous!

Pickler's style has certainly evolved since we first met her on "Idol," and her simple styling of this dress is classy! She could even hike up the hemline a little, since it's long on her tiny 5'1" frame.

Her competition, however, showed off more leg thanks to her 5'9" frame — and that wasn't the only part of Brandy's look that was edgy. I'm also a fan of her hairstyle and smoky eye makeup that gives the dress a glam vibe. I know a lot of people are probably going to disagree, but I say the winner is ... Brandy! Because while Pickler looks pretty and pulled together, it's "The Boy Is Mine" singer who really rocked the look! What do you think?

Theblackbow.com Best Kept Secret for Jewelry

Hello Girlz,

Theblackbow.com is a best kept secret that I stumbled upon recently for cute and exquisite jewelry. There’s everything from simple and girly to elegant pieces.

I love necklaces and earring combinations. I especially like stone/bead creations in turquoise and coral. Looking at it just reminds me of the sea or the sunset out in the tropics.

When you venture through the site they have a lot of inspirational pieces about family and self. We are in a time where you have to stay inspired. The piece that I chose for this week speaks volumes to staying lifted and being positive.

How many times have you wanted to give up and quit. But that little voice inside you told you to keep pressing on. Although it was hard… What did you do? You kept going and the storm came to an end.

Purple... Your Favorite Color?

Hey You! Hope your Wednesday is off to a great start…

Today I was feeling a little purple… I got up this morning and put together the perfect ensemble. Purple Cardigan, Black Slacks, Wedges and Pearls.

I was feeling very “Office Lady-ish” (LOL), and trust me with this outfit I fit the part fabulously.
The one piece of my outfit that I absolutely love is my necklace. It is a single strand sterling silver chain link of pearls with three different shades of purple. I feel that this necklace is very attractive and versatile with its violet, orchid and eggplant pearls. I wore this to a wedding last month and got a lot of compliments because of its simplicity.

This piece is just what the doctor ordered for June. For those who may not know, the birthstone for June is an alexandrite (light pinkish-purple stone) and pearls so this gives double the pleasure! Lastly, it’s inexpensive… Woo Hoo!

Beautiful In 0-60... So They Say!

Get gorgeous (almost) instantly at every age.

20s Quick Twist

Staying out late and hitting the snooze button means not a lot of time to coif your locks before rushing to the office. Here's your formula to look polished fast: Start by massaging Alterna Caviar Dry Shampoo ($20) into your roots. "It soaks up excess oils and adds texture," says hairstylist Andy Lecompte, who works with Jessica Biel and Leighton Meester. Pull hair back into a chignon and twist in Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins ($6.49 for two) — one equals 20 bobby pins — then smooth over hard-to-tame flyaways with John Frieda Full Repair Touch-up Flyaway Tamer( $9.99).

30s Fake Great Skin

Balancing work, kids, husband, friends? No time for you often equals lackluster, tired skin. Don't bother layering on the foundation, bronzer, and blush; your skin will just look tired and cakey. The solution: tinted bronzing gel, applied over your face and neck after your morning shower for an instant outer glow — even if you don't feel one on the inside. L'Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze One Day ($10.49) is smell- and streak-free and gives pasty skin major warmth in minutes. "Be sure to exfoliate first to banish dry patches that can leave you with uneven, dark spots," suggests makeup artist Rachel Goodwin, who primps celebrities like Christina Hendricks and January Jones.

40s Perfect Your Pout

Chances are your lips are not as plump as they were in your 20s, and your favorite lipstick may be sinking into fine lines around your mouth. Solve the problem by always using a lip plumper before lipstick. "Plumpers keep your lips hydrated, which prevents new lines from forming and simultaneously fills creases you already have to stop color bleeding," explains Goodwin. Look for products with anti-aging ingredients like ceramides and vitamin E. We like Laura Mercier Lip Plumper ($30).

50s Look Luminous

Highlighters and concealers are simple to use and take years off your face. For expert-level results at home, try Goodwin's red-carpet recipe: After foundation, gently pat concealer under your eyes, paying special attention to the inner corners. Then cover laugh lines by dabbing a concealer with wrinkle-relaxing properties on with your fingers. When your makeup has set, use a sponge to press highlighter along your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, and on the V of your upper lip to add radiance. We love Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Conceal & Brighten ($35).

60+ Hide Wrinkles

Botox and fillers aren't the only ways to treat unwanted lines. We swear by Clarins Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate ($32), which reduces wrinkles and tightens skin on contact. Roll on Clinique All About Eyes Serum ($25.50) to minimize puffiness and dark circles. "Don't be afraid to apply them over your makeup," adds Goodwin. And since both are slim enough to fit into the tiniest clutch, reapply them day and night for maximum results.

(Deep Sigh) And.... The Saga Continues... Chris Brown Gets a Bottle Thrown in His Face

Chris Brown was left bloody after an alleged intense altercation with Drake's entourage... Is Rihanna the cause?

Chris Brown and Drake's entourage allegedly got into a fight with one another while both partying at WIP nightclub in New York City during the early morning hours of June 14.

Between the hours of 4 and 5AM, the NYPD were called to the scene after a fight broke out! Reports are saying that a bottle was thrown at Chris’s face with a note inside.

Five people were said to be left injured after the altercation — with bumps, bruises and lacerations, including Chris’ deep gash on his chin!

After the incident, Chris, 23, tweeted a series of angry messages, along with a photo, saying, “How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol… Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!” Chris’ Instagram account captioned the photo with, “Bottles? It’s nothing! Lol.”

The reason for the altercation reportedly stems from a long history between Chris, Drake, 25, and Rihanna, who was having a care-free dinner at Da Silvano in NYC hours before the incident occurred! But she soon learned of the dangerous encounter and was none too pleased.

Someone get him a band-aid PLEASE!!!!

Drake Denies Involvment in Brawl with Chris Brown. Really???

Don’t blame Drake...

After the “Take Care” singer was implicated in a nightclub brawl involving Chris Brown In NYC early Thursday, he gave his take on the incident in a statement to Us Weekly.“.

“Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P.,” his rep’s statement begins. NYPD confirmed that a fight involving Brown and Drake’s entourages broke out at the club W.i.P., with five people sustaining minor injuries.

“He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”

“Forever” singer Brown, 23, Tweeted a photo of a deep cut on his chin after the incident, and wrote angrily, “How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol… Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!.”

“It was a huge fight,” an eyewitness at W.i.P., explaining that the actual brawl was between members of the  stars’ crews rather than Brown and Drake themselves. Although Drake seemed “irked” by Brown, he exited the club without exchanging words with Brown.

“Chris and Drake never got in each others faces,” the observer continues, explaining that another bystander threw a bottle at Brown — leading to his injuries. “It was entourage versus entourage, never Drake versus Chris.”

WIP Club after a brawl broke out between Chris Brown and Drake on June 14, 2012.
But, indeed, there was major melee. “It was lot of pushing and shoving. People were picking up ice buckets in case they had to throw it. They tore the club apart. It was bad. People went to the hospital!”

(The pair weren’t the only VIPs at WiP on Wednesday night and Thursday morning: Mary J Blige, NeYo, Adrienne  Bailon, Julissa Bermudez and Ashley Weatherspoon were partying nearby with Fabolous and Trey Songz earlier in the evening.
Many have speculated that the duo was sparring over Rihanna. The “We Found Love” singer has been secretly hooking up with volatile ex Brown for about a year — and is “good friends” with Drake, collaborating with him on the song and video for “Take Care.”
